Hi Church!

How is your prayer going?

I feel so passionately about helping Christians understand the benefits and power of prayer. I often feel like I'm trying to convince people that we need to pray.

It’s a funny thing that we need any encouragement at all, to talk to the greatest most powerful authority in all the universe.

How strange that we need to be taught how to speak to the one who created us and loves us more than anyone.

How odd that we need a reminder to ask for help from God who has all the answers, and all the wisdom we need.

We are indeed a strange bunch, us humans!

Christian life can be challenging, but it is also simple. We just need to listen to God and obey him.

He tells us to “pray without ceasing”, to never stop praying. Prayer should be an intrinsic part of our lives, attached to our hearts, ready to leap to our lips.

We must refuse to allow attention to this world, television, social media, career ambition or any other relationship to hinder our praying.

Perhaps distraction is not the only problem. Perhaps laziness is not the problem. Perhaps we find it hard to humble ourselves before God's searing truth and eternal love. But He already fully sees and knows us. And He wants to hear our hearts.

So let us come before Him and open ourselves willingly. Let us be seen and known by He who adores us. Let Him help us to be exactly who we were created to be. At the end of the day, we must simply obey.

So let us pray!

Pray today. And every day. Day after day, year after year.

Pray in every way we know how.

Pray and pray and pray.
